GOLDEN FALCONS TOP MEN'S BASKETBALL
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/6/26) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University, 85-76, this evening in a game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the loss, the Chargers now stand at 6-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
The game was tied at 22-all with seven minutes remaining in the first half, but the Charger would outscore the Golden Falcons 20-13 to jump ahead 42-35 at the break.
An Elijah Peter's layup with 11:20 on the clock gave the Chargers their biggest lead of the game (61-51), but a 12-2 Felician run re-tied the game at 63-all. Peters would later go 2-2 from the foul line to rebuild a 74-69 advantage, but Felician rallied by going on a 8-2 run to take the lead for good. The Golden Falcons scored the final eight points of the contest to take home the 85-76 win.
Senior Javel Cherry led five Chargers in double figures with 16 points in the loss.
Koi D. Kirk, Jr. added 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Isaiah Honis added 12 points, six boards, three assists and two steals.
Guard Peters and Tyler Edore both came off the bench to score 12 points a-piece, with Edore adding six rebounds.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Georgian Court University.
