MEN'S BASKETBALL GOES 2-0 AT CACC/NE10 CHALLENGE
Caldwell, N.J. (11/15/25) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team improved to 2-0 after defeating the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University, 90-76, this afternoon in their final game at the CACC/NE10 Challenge, hosted by Caldwell University.
The Chargers had a solid all-around team performance as they shot 53.6% (30-56) from the floor and 91.7% (22-24) from the foul line. DUNY out rebounded their counterparts, 36-30 and compiled 17 assists in the win.
SNHU led 27-23 with 5:25 left in the first half, but the Chargers closed out the period on an 11-5 run to take a 36-34 advantage at the break. Guard Elijah Peters scored 10 points and four rebounds in the half.
Dominican would never trail in the second half and would lead by as many as 19 points (83-64) on a Javel Cherry three-point basket with 2:37 left en route to the 90-76 victory.
Peters finished with career highs of 23 points and seven rebounds to lead four players in double figures.
Guard Reginald Dillard also posted career highs of 18 points and eight assists, while Juelz Dickerson had the game's only double-double of 11 points and 10 caroms.
Cherry finished with 10 points in the win.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday evening when they travel to non-conference opponent, Molloy University.
