#2N CHARGERS ADVANCE TO CACC SEMI FINALS WITH VICTORY OVER LIGHTNING
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/1/22) The #2N Dominican College men's basketball team defeated the #3S Goldey-Beacom College, 95-61, this evening in a 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarterfinal game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win, the Chargers (20-6) advance to the CACC Semi Finals and will face the top seed from the South Division, Thomas Jefferson University, this coming Saturday at 12pm at Caldwell University, the host of the 2022 CACC Championships.
All-CACC Second Team honoree, Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) led all scorers with a career high 34 points, six assists and two steals.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) contributed 17 points (6-10 from the floor, 3-4 from the three-point arc) and five rebounds, while Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) netted nine points, six rebounds, a game best eight assists and four steals.
The Lightning were led by Nazim Derry with 16 points, while Mekhi Collins scored 11 points.
GBC held the slight 17-16 advantage with 9:15 left in the first half when the Chargers went on a 16-7 run to jump ahead 32-24 with a little under three minutes to go. Copman closed out the first half scoring with a trey to extend the advantage to 43-31 at the break.
Dominican would lead by as many as 41 points in the second half en route to the 95-61 victory.
The Chargers shot 53.7% (36-67) from the floor, 50.0% (13-26) from the three-point arc 83.3% (10-12) from the foul line for the contest. The team out rebounded their opponents, 40-32.
