MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/15/22) The Dominican College men’s basketball team defeated the Bears of Bloomfield College by a score of 74-68.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/15/22) The Dominican College men's basketball team defeated the Bears of Bloomfield College by a score of 74-68.
The Chargers improve to 17-5 (10-4 CACC) after the win and the Bears fall to 9-15 (7-7 CACC).
Dominican was led by Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) and Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) who each finished with 12 points. Grant added five assists and three rebounds while Serrano finished with two assists and two rebounds.
Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) finished the game with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) added eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Donnell Hill (Staten Island, N.Y.) added eight rebounds and six points.
The Chargers finished the game shooting 40% from the field as a team. The Chargers added 21 second chance points and outscored the Bears 34-18 in the paint.
DC started the game on a 21-5 run over the first nine minutes of the game. DC would hold the lead for the remainder of the first half but the Bears were able to cut the deficit to 10 points by halftime.
In the second half, the Bears were able to cut the DC lead to four points but the Chargers never gave up the lead. The Chargers kept the lead for the remainder of the game on their way to their 10th conference win of the season.
For the Bears, Andreas Fulgencio led the way with 19 points and recorded three rebounds and three assists. Josh Morris and Deavion Ellis each finished with 13 points. Morris added three rebounds and three assists. Ellis recorded seven rebounds and four assists.
Edward Ngene finished with nine points and recorded a team-high eight rebounds.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, February 19th when they travel to Post University for a CACC contest with the Eagles. The game is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
