Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/15/22) The Dominican College men's basketball team defeated the visiting Devils from the University of the Sciences, 90-84, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win Dominican improves to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play while the Devils drop to 2-10 overall and 2-4 in the CACC.
Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) led all scorers and four Chargers in double figures with 29 points and eight rebounds.
Junior Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) recorded 13 points and eight boards, while Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) also added 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in the win.
Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 11 points and four steals and guard Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) came off the bench to net nine points.
USciences was led by Darryl Brown, Jr with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Omari Salvi pulled down a game best 11 caroms to go along with 20 points.
The Devils had an early 9-8 advantage in the first half but the Chargers turned the table with a 10-2 run to claim an 18-11 lead with ten and a half minutes left in the half.
Honis gave DC their biggest lead of the game with a three-point basket (41-26) with 2:38 to play before the break and the Chargers held a 43-32 lead at the half.
USciences would rally to tie the game in the second half, but an 8-4 DC spurt rebuilt a lead and they went on to the 90-84 win.
The Dominican offense shot 54.7% (35-64) from the floor for the contest, while the Devils held a 34-29 advantage in rebounds.
DC returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Nyack College.
