Philadelphia, Pa. (1/8/22) The Dominican College men's basketball team fell to CACC opponent Thomas Jefferson University by a score of 87-72.
The Chargers fall to 9-2 (2-1 CACC) after the loss and the Rams improve to 7-3 (3-0 CACC) with the win.
Dominican were led by Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who finished with 16 points and recorded two rebounds. Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) added 14 points and two steals.
Joseph Merrill (Derry, N.H.) finished the game with 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) recorded a team-high seven rebounds.
The Rams jumped ahead of the Chargers early in the first half and held the lead for the remainder of the game.
TJU used a 20-4 run to extend out to their largest lead of the first half which was 23 points. The Chargers cut the deficit to 20 points and trailed 51-31 at halftime.
The Rams extended to their largest lead of the game which was 24 points to begin the second half. The Chargers outscored the Rams in the second half but Jefferson never lost the lead and held on for the 87-72 win over DC.
For the Rams, Deondre Bourne led all scorers with 29 points. Antonin Kemkeng recorded a double-double with 14 points and a team-high 15 rebounds. Bismark Nsiah added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Erik Timko added 23 points.
The Chargers will look to bounce back next Thursday, January 13th when they travel to Bloomfield College for a conference match up with the Bears. The game is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
