CHARGERS RALLY TO DEFEAT PANTHERS
Garden City, N.Y. (12/11/21) The Dominican College men's basketball team used a second half rally to defeat the Adelphi University Panthers, 84-76, this afternoon in a non-conference game played in the Center for Recreation and Sport.

Dominican improves to 9-1 overall on the season, while the Panthers drop to 6-3 overall.
The Panthers led by as many as 12 points (32-20) with 7:03 left in the first half when DC charged back into the game by going on a 14-3 run to cut the deficit to 35-34 with a little over three minutes left in the period. Junior Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) began the run with the first eight points. Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) closed out the half with a jumper to once again bring Dominican within a point, 42-41, at the intermission.
A White jumper with 9:39 on the clock tied the contest at 62-all and began an 8-2 spurt which put the Chargers ahead 68-64 with 7:11 on the clock. Adelphi would cut the lead to two points at the 1:36 mark, but DC closed out the game on a 6-0 run to claim the win.
White led the Chargers with 17 points, four assists and three steals off the bench.
Forward Copman just missed the double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, while rookie Joseph Merrill (Derry, N.H.) recorded a career high 16 points and six boards.
Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points and Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) pulled down seven rebounds in the win.
Adelphi was led by Adonis Williams and Ronnie Silva who netted 18 points a-piece.
The Chargers return home to take on Assumption University on December 17th at 7pm on Coach Baxter Court.
