CHARGERS REMAIN UNBEATEN WITH WIN OVER THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN
West Haven, CT (11/27/21) The #21 Dominican College men’s basketball team remained undefeated with a non-conference win over the University of New Haven by a score of 66-60.

The Chargers improve to 6-0 on the season and UNH falls to 3-3.
DC shot 45.6% from the field in the win. The Chargers made five out of five free throws and outrebounded UNH 38-34.
The Chargers were led by Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) who scored a team-high 21 points. Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with 13 points in the game.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) added seven points and a team-high six rebounds. Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) provided 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) added nine points and a team-high seven assists.
For UNH, Davontrey Thomas led the team with 18 points and added five rebounds. Quashawn Lane and Derrick Rowland each added 10 points.
Lane added seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Rowland finished with three rebounds and one assist. Majur Majak added eight points and ten rebounds off the bench.
In the first half, DC jumped out in front to start the game and never lost the lead. Dominican held a seven point lead at halftime.
DC played a strong second half by extending out to their largest lead of the game which was 17 points. UNH used an 18-5 run to cut the deficit to four points and later cut the deficit to two points.
Dominican never lost the lead and solidified the win with free throws down the stretch by Johnson and White.
The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, December 1st when they travel to Caldwell University for the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game of the season. The game is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
