MEN'S BASKETBALL CHARGES PAST NYACK COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/23/21) The Dominican College Men’s Basketball team defeated the Warriors of Nyack College by a score of 84-66.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/23/21) The Dominican College Men's Basketball team defeated the Warriors of Nyack College by a score of 84-66. With the win, the Chargers improve to 4-3 (4-3 CACC) on the season. The Warriors fall to 4-4 (4-4 CACC) with the loss.
Dominican finished the game with a shooting percentage of 50.8% from the field and 45.5% from three-point range. DC outrebounded Nyack 43-32.
Tedrick Wilcox (Pawtucket, R.I.) led the team in points with 20 and also added five rebounds and two assists. Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) finished the game with 18 points and three assists. Serrano went 5 of 6 from three-point range.
Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to complete a double-double. Burgess also recorded four assists. Victor Ogbo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 12 points and four rebounds.
For Nyack, Jayden Dawson, and Isayas Aris each scored 10 points. Aris add seven rebounds and Dawson finished with three rebounds and three assists. Luis Escobar finished the game with nine points. Tyriq Perry, Jordan Rodriguez, and Joel Bailey each added eight points. Marquis Copeland recorded a team-high eight rebounds.
The Warriors held a lead over the Chargers for the first ten minutes of the first half. DC jumped ahead of the Warriors with just over ten minutes to play in the opening half and then never gave the lead back for the rest of the game.
The Chargers finished the first half with a 43-27 lead. DC followed up the first half with a strong second half and secured the 84-66 win.
The Chargers will be back in action on Thursday, February 25th when they travel to Felician University for a conference game at 5:00 P.M.
