BURGESS RECORDS DOUBLE-DOUBLE IN VICTORY OVER COUGARS
Caldwell, N.J. (1/30/21) Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) scored a game best 19 points, grabbed a career high 20 rebounds and added four steals to lead the Dominican College men's basketball team to a 75-62 victory over host, Caldwell University, this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played on Corino Court.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in CACC play.
Burgess tallied nine points and 13 boards in the first half, while adding 10 points and seven rebounds in the second frame.
Sophomore Tedrick Wilcox (Pawtucket, R.I.) contributed 18 points, shooting 7-10 from the floor and 4-5 from the three-point arc.
Guard Daniel Grant added 17 points (5-8 from the floor and 7-9 from the foul line), six rebounds and four assists in the win.
Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored nine points, while Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) netted eight points and three caroms.
Caldwell (0-1, 0-1 CACC) held a 25-17 lead with just over four minutes remaining in the first half, but the CHargers charged back to end the half on a 13-2 run to claim a 30-27 edge at the intermission.
Dominican opened the second half with the first six points and would later lead by as many as 18 points (61-43) on back-to-back free throws from Johnson. Roundtree would score the final four points for Dominican all on free throws as the team cruised to the 75-62 win.
The Chargers are scheduled to return to action next Tuesday evening when they host Concordia Collge. Game time is slated for 6pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
