MEN'S BASKETBALL RALLYS TO UPEND BENTLEY UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/27/16) The Dominican College men's basketball squad rallied from a 36-28 halftime deficit to defeat the visiting Falcons of Bentley University, 80-73, this afternoon in a non-conference game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

The Chargers opened up the second half with a 10-2 run as junior forward Austin John Huggins (Astoria, Queens) hit a trey with 17:36 to play to tie the game at 38-38. Bentley reclaimed a 42-40 edge with 16:12 to go, but DC went on a 24-8 tear, started with a three from Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) and ended with a layup from freshman Najee Taylor (Newark, N.J.) to pull ahead 64-50 with just over five minutes to play.
Bentley countered and hit two free throws with 31 seconds to go to bring them within one possession, 76-73, but junior forward Gerrel Irvin (Bay Shore, N.Y.) iced four free throws to close out the scoring and give Dominican the 80-73 win.
Rodwell led three Chargers in double figures with 17 points, going 4-6 from the three-point arc.
Huggins finished with 14 points, while Travis Cook (Middletown, N.Y.) netted 10 points.
Irvin tallied nine points and a team high seven rebounds. Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) and Sayon Charles (Staten Island, N.Y.) each contributed nine points, while Grant had a team high six assists.
Dominican (5-2) will return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play this coming Wednesday night as they travel to Caldwell University.
