MEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS SERIES SPLIT WITH FELICIAN UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/17/16) The Dominican College men's basketball team defeated the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University, 64-55, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to earn a split in the teams' two-game season series.

The Chargers charged out of the gate with the first 11 points of the game and would use a three-point basket from senior Glenn Scalia (River Vale, N.J.) with 13:22 remaining in the half to extend the lead to 16-4. Felician would rally and cut the deficit to two points (26-24) with 1:25 left before the intermission, but DC would end the half on a 6-0 run, capped off by an impressive three from Koree Hargraves (Teaneck, N.J.) to take a 32-24 lead into the locker room
Dominican, who never trailed in the contest, would lead by nine points (49-40) with 7:27 left in regulation, following a three-point bucket from guard Joe Clinton* (Pearl River, N.Y.). The Golden Falcons countered with five unanswered points and following two free throws from Gerrel Irvin (Bay Shore, N.Y.) used a three to bring them within two points (51-49) with 3:30 to go.
Scalia began what would be a 9-2 run with a three and Irvin would add an and-one play following a dunk to rebuild a nine points lead, 60-51 with a little over a minute to play. The Chargers would end the game by going 4-6 from the charity stripe for the 64-55 win.
Scalia led Dominican with a career high 14 points, going 4-6 from the three point arc.
Clinton finished with 12 points and a night best six assists, while Altine King (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points and grab a team high eight rebounds.
As a team the Chargers shot 45.5% (20-44) from the floor and hit nine threes.
Following the win, Dominican improves to 10-16 overall and 9-8 in CACC play.
DC will travel to conference foe, Nyack College this coming Saturday.
