CHARGERS DROP CACC CONTEST TO CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE

Philadelphia, Pa. (2/13/16) The Dominican College men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to host, Chestnut Hill College, 60-46, this afternoon in a game played at Sorgenti Arena.

Philadelphia, Pa. (2/13/16)  The Dominican College men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to host, Chestnut Hill College, 60-46, this afternoon in a game played at Sorgenti Arena.

Sophomore Gerrel Irvin (Bay Shore, N.Y.) led Dominican with 12 points and had the game's only double-double with 10 rebounds, while grabbind a team best four steals.

DC led 7-4 with 14:50 remaining in the first half when the Griffins clawed back into the contest with a first half closing, 23-8 tear to gain a 23-15 lead at the intermission.

The Chargers opened the second half on a 6-2 run to cut the deficit to 25-21, but CHC countered with an 11-2 run to regain a 38-23 lead and never looked back en route to the victory.

With the loss, the Chargers fall to 9-16 overall and 8-8 in CACC play.

Dominican returns to action on Wednesday night as they host CACC North Division foe, Felician College.
