DOMINICAN'S SMITH NAMED ECAC ALL-STAR

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/19/14) Dominican College men's basketball player, Nick Smith, has earned his second post season honors of the week as he was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2013-2014 Division II Men's Basketball All-Star First Team as was announced this week.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/19/14)  Dominican College men's basketball player, Nick Smith, has earned his second post season honors of the week as he was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2013-2014 Division II Men's Basketball All-Star First Team as was announced this week.

This is Smith's first ECAC All-Star honors.

The balloting was completed by the head coaches within the ECAC Division II Men's Basketball membership.

Smith, a junior forward from Middletown, N.Y., ranked in the top 20 nationally in points per game, field goals made and in field goal percentage.  He led the team in both scoring (22.0 ppg) and is second on the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg).

He led the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in field goal percentage, ranked second in scoring, third in total points and 11th in blocks.  Smith had six games this season where he scored over 30 points, while recording three double-doubles this season.  He posted a career high 39 points against NYIT on 11/16/13.

Recently, he was named to the All-CACC First Team, the Daktronics Men's Basketball East All-Region Second Team, the NABC All-District East Second Team, the All-Met First Team and earned one CACC Player of the Week accolades.

Smith is one of two players from the CACC to earn ECAC All-Star accolades.
