Philadelphia, Pa. (12/1/12) The Dominican College men's basketball team improved to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play as they edged Holy Family University, 76-74, this afternoon in a CACC game played at Campus Center Gym.

Following the loss, Holy Family University now stands at 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.
The Chargers led 72-63 with 2:19 left on the clock, but the Tigers came back to cut the lead to 75-74 with 21 ticks left on the clock
Forced to foul, the Tigers put freshman guard Joe Clinton (Pearl River, N.Y.) on the charity stripe where he converted one of two shots to give DC the 76-74 lead.
The Charger defense kept the Tigers from getting a shot off and junior Johnathan Brown (Central Islip, N.Y.) stole the ball as time expired on the clock.
Sophomore A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) led five players in double figures for the Chargers as he recorded 13 points (4-8 from the floor) and six rebounds off the bench.
Senior forward Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and Nick Smith (Middletown, N.Y.) each added 11 points and Woods added five rebounds.
Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) tallied 10 points, while senior center Cory Quimby* (Otisville, N.Y.) recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and a game best 15 rebounds.
Leon Porter II (Laurel, Md.) had a game leading eight assists and scored nine points.
Dominican is back in action on Thursday evening as they host Bloomfield College in a CACC contest to be played at the Hennessy Center.
