GOMEZ CERVANTES NAMED CACC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR; ALL-CACC MEN'S GOLF TEAM ANNOUNCED

New Haven, Conn. (5/1/21) Dominican College men's golfer, Alejandro Gomez Cervantes (Torreon, Mexico), has been named the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year as was announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Teammates Juan David Fajardo (Bogota, Colombia) and Alexander Lundvall (Stockholm, Sweden) were named to the All-CACC Team.

New Haven, Conn. (5/1/21) Dominican College men's golfer, Alejandro Gomez Cervantes (Torreon, Mexico), has been named the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year as was announced by Commissioner Dan Mara.  Teammates Juan David Fajardo (Bogota, Colombia) and Alexander Lundvall (Stockholm, Sweden) were named to the All-CACC Team.

Gomez turned in a strong round at the CACC Championship, as he fired a four-over-par, 76, to tie for fifth to earn all-tournament accolades. He was the highest ranking freshman in the CACC in the final Golfstat rankings in late April. His 76 helped guide the Chargers to the CACC Championship, which marked the program's second league title in the last three seasons.  Gomez also earned a spot on the All-CACC Team.

Joining him on the All-CACC Team were Fajardo and Lundvall.  Lundvall was the individual medalist at the CACC Championship with the low round score of 71 (-1) and was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team.  Fajardo finished in a tie for 12th place at the CACC Championship

For all three, this was their first All-CACC honors.
