GOLF FINISHES SEVENTH AT SAINT ROSE FALL SHOOTOUT
Albany, NY (9/16/10) The Dominican College men's golf team opened up the 2010-2011 campaign by finishing in seventh place overall at the Second Annual Saint Rose Fall Shootout held at the Orchard Creek Golf Club today.
Albany, NY (9/16/10) The Dominican College men's golf team opened up the 2010-2011 campaign by finishing in seventh place overall at the Second Annual Saint Rose Fall Shootout held at the Orchard Creek Golf Club today.
The team shot a combined score of 326 to place them a stroke behind Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member, Concordia College who finished with a 325. The host of the tournament, the College of Saint Rose, came away with the tournament title with a 297 team score, followed by Dowling (302), Le Moyne (304), Bentley (310) and Franklin Pierce University (315).
Freshman Keith Prokop (Ramsey, NJ) was the top finisher for the Chargers as he shot a 77 (+6) on the day to finish in a tie for 15th place. Sophomore Michael Ciabattari (New Hampton, NY) was two strokes behind Prokop to finish with a 79 (+8) and take 21st place.
Lewis Morse (Aurora, NY) tied for 27th place with a 83 finish for the tournament, while rookie Brandon Paone (Staten Island, NY) tied for 25th place after shooting a score of 87. Sophomore Jeffery Sabella (Budd Lake, NJ) rounded out the scoring for the Chargers with an 88 to finish in 37th place.
Dominican is back in action on Sunday when they will participate in the NEIC Championships being held at the Richter Park Golf Course this coming Sunday and Monday.
