NCBWA NAMES RIVERA EAST REGION PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Dallas, TX (5/7/25) Dominican University New York baseball player, Luis Rivera, has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Assoication (NCBWA) East Region Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on May 4, 2025.
Rivera had been previously named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday. The junior right-hander pitched seven scoreless innings during Game 1 of the Chargers' CACC first-round playoff series against Caldwell, an eventual 20-3 DUNY victory. Allowed two hits, struck out eight batters and walked none. Threw 98 pitches, 64 for strikes.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Howser Award Player of the Year, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication and writing contests.
