STAC COMPLETES SWEEP OVER CHARGERS
Pomona, N.Y. (4/13/25) The Dominican University New York baseball team fell in their game two of their two game weekend series with rival St. Thomas Aquinas College this afternoon.
The Chargers, #10 team in the NCBWA regional rankings, falls to 26-13 overall on the season. STAC improves to 9-23 overall.
Tanner MacLean took the mound for the Chargers and suffered the loss after going five innings while surrendering four runs, three earned, and six hits.
Orin Winslow took the mound for STAC and earned the win on 5.1 while allowing one run.
STAC jumped out in front early with a three run second inning. Dominican got on the board after an RBI-single by Kevin Hirsch in the fourth inning.
The Spartans plated one run in the fifth inning and one run in the eighth inning to extend to a 5-1 lead. Dominican scratched across a run in the top of the ninth but the Spartans closed out the win.
Erick Diaz, Jaden Maia, and David Knepper all finished with two hits. Diaz added a double and Ian Labrador also added a double. Maia picked up a stolen base.
The Chargers return to conference play this Tuesday when they host Goldey-Beacom College for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 PM from Clover Stadium.
