Manchester, N.H. (5/27/21) Dominican (N.Y.) College senior Joshua Colon and St. Thomas Aquinas College graduate student Alex Mack headline the 2021 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Baseball All-East Region Teams, as they were selected as the Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, by a vote of the region's sports information directors.

Colon (Bronx, N.Y.), the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year, has led the Chargers to a 19-13 record, the program's 18th (CACC) Championship and the No. 6 seed in the NCAA East Regional Championship. Colon is batting .412 (47-114) in 31 games, while slugging eight home runs, racking up 37 RBI and scoring 30 runs. He has slashed .496/.825/1.321 and pounded out 25 extra-base hits. The shortstop has also made just three errors in 98 total chances for a .969 fielding percentage. He has hit safely in 25 contests, including 10 straight from April 24-May 2. Colon ranks second in the CACC in home runs, triples (6) and total bases (94), third in batting average, slugging, hits and doubles (11), fifth in RBI, seventh in OBP, and 12th in runs and walks (16). Nationally, Colon is seventh in triples, 19th in slugging and 32nd in batting.

Mack (Cornwall, N.Y.) has guided the Spartans to a 25-5 mark and the No. 2 seed in the NCAA East Regional Championship. In nine starts, Mack is a perfect 7-0 with a stingy 1.48 ERA, allowing just 10 earned runs on 43 hits over 61 innings, striking out 73 and walking only six. The NCBWA East Region and East Coast Conference (ECC) Pitcher of the Year has tossed three scoreless outings and allowed more than two earned runs on just one occasion. He paces the ECC in wins, ERA and strikeouts, while ranking second in innings, fourth in strikeouts per game (10.77) and 13th in opponent batting average (.187). Nationally, Mack places fourth in ERA, fifth in WHIP (0.80) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (12.17), and sixth in walks per nine innings (0.89).

Joining Colon (SS) and Mack (SP) on the First Team are Mack's teammate at St. Thomas Aquinas, James Versage (OF), Franklin Pierce University's Dylan Jones (C), Bentley University's Ryan Berardino (1B) and Brandon Ostiguy (RP), Molloy College's Sean Hogan (2B), Adelphi University's Matt Alifano (3B), Caldwell University's Travis Brunson (OF), Wilmington (Del.) University's Quintin Ivy (OF) and Dan Hyatt (UT-P),Southern New Hampshire University's Dakota Mulcay (DH), Nick Artymowicz (SP) and Wesley Tobin (SP), University of the Sciences' Eddy Parry (UT) and Thomas Jefferson University's Jack Galligan.

Earning a spot on the D2CCA All-East Region Second Team are Chestnut Hill College's Sam Barletta (C) and Ameir Uzzell (DH), Franklin Pierce's Jonel Ozuna (1B), Tyler Patane (3B) and Ian Battipaglia (SS), Southern Connecticut State University's Tony Zambito (2B), Pace University's Matt Almonte (OF) and Christian Aich (SP), Thomas Jefferson's Richard Joa (OF) and Matt Bukavich (RP), Molloy's Matt Overton (OF) and Charlie Cucchiara (SP), Queens (N.Y.) College's Reed Hoskins (UT), Le Moyne College's Andrew Roden (UT-P), the University of New Haven's Thomas Eletto (SP) and the University of Bridgeport's Justin Nyarady.

The First Team honorees are eligible to be nominated for the D2CCA All-America voting process. The 2021 D2CCA Baseball All-America Team will be announced on Friday, June 4.
