BASEBALL EDGES GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Albany, N.Y. (4/26/15) The Dominican College baseball team edged host, the College of Saint Rose, 9-8, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Bob Bellizzi Field. With the win, Dominican improves to 18-20 on the season.

Leadoff hitter Jonathan Martinez (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) went 3-4 with one run scored in the win.
Shortstop Robert Alonso (Hurley, N.Y.) had a team best three RBIs, while Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) and Donald Crispyn (Freeport, N.Y.) both had two RBIs a-piece.
The Golden Knights put two runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first and maintained that lead until DC plated a run in the top of the fourth on solo home run from Lopez.
The Chargers pulled 4-2 in the fifth as they scored three runs on two hits. Lopez had an RBI ground out and designated hitter Mark Vargas (Bronx, N.Y.) followed with a run-scoring single to right field. An RBI double to right field from Crispyn brought home Vargas to give Dominican their first lead of the game.
St. Rose tied the contest in the bottom of the sixth as they scored two runs, but DC answered right back with a two-run top of the seventh to reclaim a 6-4 advantage. Crispyn doubled to center field on a 1-0 pitch to bring home a run and he later scored on a wild pitch.
The Golden Knights countered with a four-run bottom of the seventh to regain an 8-6 lead. In the top of the eighth inning, DC scored three times on a three-run double down the left field line off the bat of Alonso en route to the 9-8 win.
Thomas Musso (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded his first collegiate win (1-2) in 1/3 inning of work where he allowed one run.
Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) picked up his team leading sixth save of the season after pitching the final two innings.
