WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL UPSET BY WILMINGTON UNIVERSITY

Orangeburg, NY (11/8/11) The Dominican College women's volleyball team, the second seed in the north division, fell to Wilmington University, the third seed in the south division, 3-1, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarter-Final match held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the loss, Dominican ends their season with an 18-14 overall record.

Orangeburg, NY (11/8/11)  The Dominican College women's volleyball team, the second seed in the north division, fell to Wilmington University, the third seed in the south division, 3-1, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarter-Final match held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.  With the loss, Dominican ends their season with an 18-14 overall record.

The Wildcats took set one by a score of 25-12 and with the score tied at 20-20 in the second set, WU scored five unanswered points en route to the 25-20 win and 2-0 match lead.

The third set was tied at 10-all when the Lady Chargers went on a 10-5 run to pull ahead 20-15 and cruised to a 25-20 win.  The 'Cats jumped out to a 10-6 lead in the fourth set and never looked back as they went on to the 25-21 win and 3-1 match victory to advance to the CACC semi-finals.

Junior outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led the Lady Chargers with the double-double of 18 kills and 13 digs, while recording her 1,000 career kill during the first set.  Freshman Kayla Dexter (Selah, WA) added 12 kills, while junior setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) tallied 41 assists and 15 digs.  Libero Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) had a match leading 20 defensive digs in the loss.
