Fairleigh Dickinson University-Madison Defeats Lady Chargers, 3-1

Blauvelt, NY (9/5/06) The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Madison Devils defeated the Dominican College volleyball team, 3-1 this evening in a non-conference match up at the Hennessy Center.

Blauvelt, NY (9/5/06)   The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Madison Devils defeated the Dominican College volleyball team, 3-1 this evening in a non-conference match up at the Hennessy Center.

The Devils took the first game in a close match, 27-30 before Dominican battled back to win the second game 30-23.  FDU rebounded to win the third game 30-18 and the fourth game 30-27 for the 3-1 victory.

The Devils were led by senior Meghan Redd (Lakewood, CO) who had 15 kills, 12 defensive digs and two assisted blocks.  Michelle Yered (Millis, MA) added 12 kills in the win.  Senior setter Lindsey Flora (Secaucus, NJ) had 41 assists.

For the Lady Chargers sophomores Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) and Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) each had 13 kills in the loss.  Sophomore Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) added 39 assists in the loss, while Ashley Simpson (Spring Valley, NY) had 10 kills.

Dominican will be in action again on Friday when they travel to the University of Bridgeport for a 6pm match.
