WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES TO FELICIAN COLLEGE

Orangeburg, NY (2/11/10) The Dominican College women's basketball team dropped their fourth straight game to the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 64-50, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Orangeburg, NY (2/11/10) The Dominican College women's basketball team dropped their fourth straight game to the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 64-50, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Dominican opened the game with a 15-9 lead with 13:48 on the clock only to see Felician go on a 19-4 run to take a 36-21 lead at the intermission.

The Lady Chargers erased nearly all of that deficit in the first six minutes, 10 seconds of the second period, opening the half with an 18-5 spurt. A Golden Falcon third three-point field goal at the 8:17 mark pushed the lead back to eight at the 8:17 mark as they went on to the 64-50 victory.

Senior Janelle Biamonte (Secaucus, NJ) led all scorers with 27 points and tallied eight rebounds for the Golden Falcons in the victory. Destiny Barnette (Paterson, NJ) added 12 points, while Quay Baskerville (Hartford, CT) came off the bench to net 11 points.

Dominican had three scorers in double-figures as senior Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) and freshman Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) each had 13 points and five rebounds. Guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) recorded 11 points, while sophomore Marley Klunk (York, PA) added nine points and four rebounds in the loss.

With the loss Dominican falls to 10-11 overall and 7-6 in the CACC, while Felician improves to 14-7 overall and 8-5 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest scheduled to begin at 1pm.
