Dominican Trio Named to the (NSCAA)/Adidas Division II All-New England Region Teams
Blauvelt, NY (12/4/06) Dominican College mens soccer players, Ryan Clancy, Joseph Ruesgan and Jhonny Arteaga have been named to the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) /Adidas Division II All-American Team in the New England Region as was announced today by the NSCAA. Clancy received First Team Honors, while Ruesgan and Arteaga were named to the Second Team.

Blauvelt, NY (12/4/06) Dominican College men's soccer players, Ryan Clancy, Joseph Ruesgan and Jhonny Arteaga have been named to the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) /Adidas Division II All-American Team in the New England Region as was announced today by the NSCAA. Clancy received First Team Honors, while Ruesgan and Arteaga were named to the Second Team.
Clancy, a native of Pine Bush, NY, is a junior
forward who leads the Chargers in goals scored and assists.
He was named the CACC Tournament MVP for the second time in his
career, named to the All-CACC First Team for the second year
straight, the CACC All-Tournament Team for the third straight year
and to the 2006 Division II Daktronics All-New England Men's Soccer
First Team. He finished the year leading the team in goals
(9), assists (12) and points (30). He was also named CACC
Player of the Week three times this year. He finished the
season ranked sixth in the nation in assists per game, averaging
0.63 per contest. Last year, he earned NSCAA/Adidas Division
II New England Region Second Team honors and in 2004 was named to
the Third Team.
Ruesgan, a junior from Campbeltown, Scotland,
finished tied for second on the team in goals and has been a key
component of the Charger defense for the last two years. He
was named to the All-CACC First Team, All-CACC Tournament Team and
to the 2006 Division II Daktronics All-New England Men's Soccer
First Team.
Arteaga, a native of Cali, Colombia, is a junior
forward who finished the year tied for second in goals and was
second in assists. He was also named to the All-CACC First Team and
the All-CACC Tournament Team.
All three players were key members for the Chargers this year, guiding them to a 12-4-3 record. They won their third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season and Tournament Titles and made their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
