Pomona, N.Y. (4/22/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team dropped two games to the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University, 7-2 and 5-2 in 11 innings in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played today at Clover Stadium.
With the losses, the Chargers are now 16-29 overall and 12-17 in conference play.
Game One: The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Dominican's Kevin Hirsch blasted a two-run home run over the left field fence for the 2-0 advantage.
Felician scored three runs in the top of the fifth to claim a 3-2 advantage and added a run in the sixth. The Golden Falcons closed out the game with three runs in the top of the ninth for the 7-2 win.
Right fielder Davin Keddell-Tuckey went 2-4 in the game, while Hirsch finished with two RBIs.
Starter AJ Mitchell took the loss.
Game Two: Dominican struck for a run in the bottom of the fourth inning as Hirsch hit a run-scoring double to right field. Felician got the run back in the top of the fifth, but the Chargers re-tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on the solo home run over the right field fence off the bat of Keddell-Tuckey for a 2-2 score.
After a scoreless seventh, the game went into extra innings and remained tied until the top of the eleventh when the Golden Falcons struck for three runs for the 5-2 lead and eventual win.
Second basemen Pablo Guevara went 2-4 in the game.
Reliever Chad Falcon suffered the loss.
The Chargers are scheduled to return to action on Saturday when they host Thomas Jefferson University for a CACC double-header scheduled to begin at 4pm at Clover Stadium.
