2007 Dominican College Cross Country Season Summary

The Dominican College Lady Chargers Cross Country Team saw much improved in the 2007 season under second year Head Coach Regina Pietanza.  The team returned three runners from last season and had the addition of a very talented freshman for four complete runners.  With the loss of a runner right before the season began, the team struggled with the fifth spot, but the Lady Chargers battled through to have their best season ever.

Junior captain Jessica Lappe had another stellar year, winning both the Caldwell College Invitational and the Dominican College Invitational Individual Titles, and finished in the top ten at the 7th Annual Wilmington University Cross Country Invitational and 11th at the CACC Championships.

Sophomore Andrea Johnston finished second among the Lady Chargers in most of the meets to show much improvement from a year ago.

The biggest accomplishment for the Lady Chargers this season was at the CACC Championships where they finished in 8th place after an 11th place finish in 2006.  Coach Pietanza was pleased with the improved finish and believes that next season the team has the talent and potential to finish in the top five.

With the return of four strong runners and the addition of some very talented recruits, the Lady Chargers Cross Country squad look to reach new heights in the 2008 season.
