Nyack, N.Y. (10/19/17) The Dominican College Lady Chargers Volleyball team were on the road Thursday to face Mercy College after their home loss on Tuesday. The Lady Chargers are still seeking their first win of the 2017 season and were hoping they could earn it against Mercy. The Lady Chargers have had a tough season thus far but have been playing hard during these last stretch of games as we get closer towards the end of the season.
The first set was a back and forth contest between the teams and both teams had a chance to win towards the end. The teams were tied at 24 when Mercy took the lead 25-24 looking for the final point. Dominican scored the next three points in the set to take the early 1-0 match lead. Set number two was just as close as the first with Mercy securing the win by a score of 25-22. Mercy would then take the next two sets from Dominican to win the match three sets to one. The Lady Chargers played hard the whole match and deserved a win, but Mercy College ended up being too much for them.
In the loss, there were some strong performances by a couple different Lady Chargers in the match.
