WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALL ON FINAL DAY OF SKYHAWK INVITATIONAL

Easton, Mass. (9/3/17) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell to Stonehill College and Shepherd University this afternoon in the final day of the Skyhawk Invitational, hosted by Stonehill College. Stonehill defeated the Lady Chargers, 3-0 (15-25, 15-25, 11-25), while Shepherd also took home a 3-0 (7-25, 14-25, 14-25) victory.

Match One: Sophomore Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) led the Lady Chargers with four kills.  Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) tied her career high with four service aces and added five digs.

Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) contributed three kills, while Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) had a team best 10 digs.

Rookie Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) had nine assists and seven digs in the loss.

Match Two:  In the loss to Shepherd University, Napoleon and Knopf each had four kills to lead the team.

Boyd finished with 10 assists and four block assists, while Perez and Giovanna Del Sordo (Springfield, N.J.) both had eight digs.

Following the losses, the Lady Chargers are now 0-4 on the season.

Dominican will continue on their season opening road trip as they travel to Molloy College this coming Wednesday.
