2008 Dominican College Volleyball Summary
The Dominican College women's volleyball team had a rough 2008 campaign as they finished the season with an overall record of 2-25 and a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record of 2-15.
Senior Kinikia Collier led the team with 203 kills on the season, averaging 2.33 kpg. She also led the team with 211 digs, averaging 2.43 dpg and in service aces with 26 (0.30 sapg). Teammate Ashley Simpson finished second on the team with 99 kills (1.14 kpg) and led the team with 35 total blocks with 27 of them being solo blocks.
Setter Kaitlin Earl amassed 337 assists this year to put her in tenth place in the CACC, averaging 4.32 per game. Sophomore Lauren Palermo had 135 assists on the season.
Sophomores Akirrah Cooper and Kerianne Dudley came on to have strong finishes as they finished with 81 kills and 68 kills respectively.
In January of 2009, Collier and fellow senior Theresa Hanneman were named to the CACC All-Academic Team.
With the loss of four seniors, first year head coach Stefanie Carrington will look to bring in a strong recruiting class to complement the returning players.
