Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/20/17) The Lady Chargers hosted Caldwell University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game in their only meeting of the season this afternoob. The Lady Chargers entered the game looking for their first win of the year.

In the first half, the Lady Chargers were out shot by Caldwell 11-1.  Caldwell stayed aggressive throughout the half by scoring their fist goal early at the 11:31 mark by Meghan Grundhauser to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead. Later, Macie Pennington scored at the 33:14 mark to extend the Cougar lead to 2-0.  The score remained 2-0 at halftime and would eventually be the final score of the game.

In the second half, the Lady Chargers took a total of 10 shots toward Cougar goalkeeper Daniela Lucca. Lucca made eight total saves in the game for her third shut out of the season. As for the Chargers when it was all said and done, they had recorded 11 shots throughout the game and out of those 11 shots eight were on goal and stopped by Lucca.

Dominican goalkeeper Jasmine Pesante (Wappingers Falls, NY) made five saves on seven shots that the Cougars managed to record on goal.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-3 (2-1 CACC) and will host Holy Family University on Saturday.

The Lady Chargers (0-6, 0-4 CACC) will continue the hunt for their first win of the year when they host Jefferson University on Saturday.
