Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/9/17) The Dominican College women's soccer team fell in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and home opening game, 8-0, to the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University in a game played this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

GCU got the scoring going early as they tallied their first score just 56 seconds into the contest.  They added back-to-back goals in the 13th and 15th minutes to pull in front 3-0 and take that lead into the intermission.  In the half, the Lions outshot DC, 9-4 and held the 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

Keeper Angelica Contreras (Baytown, Texas) made four saves in the half.

The second half belonged to GCU as they scored five goals on 21 shots.

Jasmine Pesante (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) began the second frame in the Lady Charger net and made one save in 21:30.  Contreras returned for the remaining time and had six saves to finish with 10 saves in the loss.

Dominican returns to action on Wednesday night as they travel to conference opponent, Felician University.  Game time is slated for 5pm.
