Women's Soccer

NYACK WARRIORS DEFEAT LADY CHARGERS SOCCER, 2-1

Nyack, NY (9/20/07) Nyack defeated Dominican College this afternoon, 2-1 in CACC women's soccer action.  With the win Nyack improves to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.  Dominican falls to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the CACC.

Nyack scored first in the 28th minute when Nicole Keiser (Forked River, NJ) sent the ball ahead to Alisha Smith (Irvine, CA).  Smith sprinted by the defense and beat Dominican goalie Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY).

After halftime Nyack extended the lead on a goal by Keiser from Becky Gogolen (Ringwood, NJ) and Michelle Wolfson (Baldwin, NY) putting them up by two goals.  

Dominican answered in the 67th minute on a goal from Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) on a shot from just inside midfield.

Nyack keeper Whitney Shutt (Point Pleasant, NJ) recorded 4 saves on the day while Centurion had 6.  

The Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia University in CACC women's soccer action.  Game time is 12pm at the DC Soccer Field
