Post Eagles Advance to CACC Semi-Finals Over Dominican Lady Chargers, 2-0

Waterbury, CT (10/23/06) The #4 Post University women's soccer team defeated #5 Dominican College, 2-0 this afternoon to advance to the semi-finals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament at LaMoy Field.

Waterbury, CT (10/23/06)  The #4 Post University women's soccer team defeated #5 Dominican College, 2-0 this afternoon to advance to the semi-finals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament at LaMoy Field.

Both goals came late in the game as Shannon Firetto put Post on the board at 74:22 off the double assist by Katie Sabal and Kaitlyn Delaney, firing a shot into the low right corner of the goal.

The Eagles added to lead at 76:56 when Delaney fired one past DC keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) off the assist by Firetto giving Post the 2-0 victory.

Post out shot the Lady Chargers 18-3 and had the edge in corner kicks 5-2.

Sturchio had four saves in the loss.

With the win, Post advances to the semi-finals of the CACC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Tryon Field in Rutherford, NJ.

The Lady Chargers end the season 6-11-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the CACC.
