Dominican Lady Chargers Upend Felician College, 3-1

Blauvelt, NY (9/5/06) The Dominican College women’s soccer team upended Felician College, 3-1 this afternoon on opening day of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at the Dominican College Soccer Field.

Blauvelt, NY (9/5/06)  The Dominican College women's soccer team upended Felician College, 3-1 this afternoon on opening day of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at the Dominican College Soccer Field.

The Lady Chargers got on the board late in the first half as freshman Kelly Kenny (Staten Island, NY) scored her first collegiate goal at 43:16 to take a 1-0 lead.

DC extended their lead early in the second half (53:02) on an own goal after Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) took a shot that was deflected off a Golden Falcon defender into the net.

Felician cut the lead in half in the 57th minute of play when Cortney Gavin (Kearny, NJ) put the ball in the net passing a diving Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY).

Dominican regained a two goal advantage in the 73rd minute as junior Nicole Tatulli (Brick, NJ) netted a goal off the assist by Correia.

With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while Felician falls to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Thursday, September 7 when they travel non-conference foe Molloy College for a 7pm game.
