LADY CHARGERS LACROSSE FALL TO MOLLOY COLLEGE

Rockville Centre, NY (3/3/09) The Molloy College Lions defeated the visiting Dominican College Lady Chargers, 20-8 this evening in a non-conference game.
The Lions roared for 11 goals in the first half and added nine in the second half, while the Lady Chargers netted four goals a piece in each half in the loss. Molloy out shot Dominican, 44-18, while DC had the edge in ground balls, 17-13.
In the first half DC was able to cut the lead to 4-3, when Molloy went on a 6-0 tear to take a 10-3 lead en route to the 11-4 halftime lead.
Sophomores Sarah Kerinan (Saugerties, NY) and Silje Karlsen (Vernon, NJ) and freshman Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ) each had two goals a piece in the loss. Juniors Ashley Ordemann (Toms River, NJ) and Maryanne Eaton (Rehoboth, MA) each had a goal.
Junior keeper Lindsey Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) had 15 saves in the loss.
With the loss the Lady Chargers fall to 0-1 on the season, while Molloy improves to 1-0.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday, March 17 when they travel to Manhattanville College for a 3:30 non-conference game.
