LADY CHARGERS LACROSSE LOSES TO PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY RAMS

Philadelphia, PA (4/20/08)  The visiting Rams of Philadelphia University defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 19-5 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.  With the win the Rams improve to 8-3 overall, while the Lady Chargers fall to 1-10 on the season.

The Rams used a 9-0 run to start the game en route to a 14-1 halftime lead.  DC opened up the second half with two consecutive goals, but the Rams ended the game with a 3-0 run en route to the 19-5 victory.

The Rams were led by Allison Kressler (Burtonsville, MD) and Michelle O'Hanlon (Springfield, PA) with four goals a piece.  Shannon Shippey (Freeport, NY) added three goals and a game leading four assists in the win, while three other Rams had two goals a piece. 

Freshman Silje Karlsen (Vernon, NJ) led the Lady Chargers with four goals, while Jessica Bianchi (East Islip, NY) had the other goal.

Kelly Staerk (Edgewater Park, NJ) had seven saves in the net for the Rams, while DC goalie Linsday Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) had 12 saves in the loss.
