Georgian CourtLions Turn Back Lady Chargers, 25-2
Blauvelt, NY (4/21/07) The Dominican College women’s lacrosse team lost to visiting Georgian Court University, 25-2 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.
GCU held a 7-1 lead at the intermission and exploded for 18 goals in the second half, including an 11-0 run to start the half. DC broke the run with 11:42 remaining in the game as Ashley Ordemann (Toms River, NJ) converted a free position shot to make the score 18-2. The Lions then went on to score the last seven goals en route to the 25-2 victory.
Christine Flaherty (Howell, NJ) led the lions with five goals, while Laura Housel (Caldwell) added five goals and four assists in the win. Jillian Hadfield (Jackson, NJ) had four goals and two assists.
Ashley Jones (Bronx, NY) had the other Lady Charger goal.
Christine Latteri (West Long Branch, NJ) had seven saves in the win.
Lady Charger goalie Lindsay Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) had 16 saves in the lost.
With
the win, the GCU improves to 9-4 on the year, while DC drops to
0-6.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday, April
28th when they travel to St. Vincent’s
College. Game time is 2pm.
