LADY CHARGERS TURN BACK NYACK COLLEGE

Nyack, N.Y. (2/20/16)  The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated host, Nyack College, 79-48, this afternoon in an Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Bowman Gymnasium.

The Lady Chargers never trailed in the contest, taking a 31-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 45-24 at the break.

Forward Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) led all scorers with 18 points, while tallying eight rebounds and four assists.

Senior Déja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) completed the game's only double-double with 17 points and an afternoon best 16 caroms, while adding five assists.

Guard Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) recorded 12 points and five boards, while Jacqueline Rywalt* (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) had a game best seven assists and six rebounds in the win.

Dominican shot 43.1% (31-72) from the floor, went 11-24 (45.8%) from the three point arc and was 6-11 (54.5%) from the charity stripe in the win.

With the win, Dominican improves to 12-14 overall and 8-9 in conference play.

DC concludes the regular season on Tuesday evening when they host, Post University at 5:30 pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
