WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RALLY TO DEFEAT POST UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/6/13) The Dominican College women's basketball team rallied from a 13 point second half deficit to defeat the visiting Eagles of Post University, 81-73 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican improves to 15-7 overall and 12-3 in CACC play.
The Lady Chargers quickly jumped out a ten-point lead early in the contest as a trey by senior Shannon Lavelle* (Floral Park, N.Y.) made the score 14-4. The Eagles later came back to tie the game at 16-16 and later tied at 25-all, Post went on a 10-4 run to take the lead at 35-29. A basket with 18 ticks on the clock cut the Lady Charger deficit to four points, 37-33, at the intermission.
Post continued on the offensive to start the second half with a 15-6 run to gain their biggest lead of the game, 52-39, with 15:36 to go. DC came alive with a 26-10 romp, capped off by back-to-back-to-back three-point buckets from senior guard Lindsey Lopez* (Elmwood Park, N.J.) to regain the lead for Dominican, 65-62, with 6:22 to go.
Later tied at 73-73 with under three minutes left, the Lady Chargers scored the next eight straight points to secure the 81-73 victory.
Lopez led all scorers with 24 points and added five assists.
Junior KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) recorded the game's only double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Bianca Harris* (Teaneck, N.J.) netted 16 points and seven rebounds, while Lavelle added 12 points (4-7 from the three point arc).
Dominican is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Philadelphia University.
