WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TURNS BACK NYACK COLLEGE

Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/31/13)  The Dominican College women's basketball team turned back the visiting Warriors of Nyack College, 66-47, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division contest played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Junior forward KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) led three Lady Chargers in double figures with 17 points and grabbed a game leading nine rebounds in the win.

Senior Lindsey Lopez* (Elmwood Park, N.J.) and freshman Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) each tallied 10 points a-piece, with Gabbidon adding eight caroms.

With the win, Dominican improves to 13-7 overall and 10-3 in CACC play.

Dominican took control early in the contest as they began the first ten minutes with a 17-5 tear and used a Gabbidon layup with two ticks to go for a 38-20 lead at the break.

DC extended their lead to 29 points (52-23) with 12:44 to go and never gave up the double-digit lead en route to the 66-47 victory.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Georgian Court University.
