EAGLES RALLY TO EDGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Orangeburg, NY (2/1/12) The Post University women's basketball team rallied from a three point deficit at the half and held on in overtime to defeat host, Dominican College, 71-70 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win Post improves to 5-14 overall and 3-9 in the conference, while Dominican falls to 9-9 overall and 9-3 in the CACC.

With the win Post improves to 5-14 overall and 3-9 in the conference, while Dominican falls to 9-9 overall and 9-3 in the CACC.
The first half saw the Eagles take an early 10-2 lead and led 18-8 with 12:25 to go in the first stanza. Dominican rallied with a 13-3 run, spanning a period of almost five minutes to take their first lead of the game, 22-21 with 7:47 on the clock.
Post regained a three point advantage, 25-22, but the Lady Chargers scored the next six straight points to go ahead 28-25 and went into the intermission with a 33-30 lead.
The Eagles rallied in the second half when the game was tied at 39-all and the team went on a 8-2 run to go up 47-41. Post led 58-51 with under three minutes remaining, but the Lady Chargers scored the final seven points of the period, including a huge three pointer by guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) with 17 ticks left on the clock to tie the game at 58-58 and force overtime.
In the overtime with the scored tied at 62-62, the Eagles went on a 5-0 run to go up 67-62 and held a 71-67 lead with 0:23 to go. A three point basket by Marley Klunk (York, PA) with 4 seconds brought the Lady Chargers within a point, 71-70, but the Eagles ran out the clock for the one point victory.
Lopez led three Lady Chargers in double figures with 17 points and four assists. Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) added 16 points and six rebounds, while Klunk finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
DC returns to action on Saturday when they travel to CACC foe, the University of the Sciences for a 1pm game.
