DOWLING COLLEGE TURNS BACK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Oakdale, NY (11/15/11) The Dowling College Lions turned back the visiting Lady Chargers basketball team, 58-40, this evening in a non-conference women's basketball game. With the loss Dominican drops to 0-1 on the season, while Dowling improves to 2-0.
Oakdale, NY (11/15/11) The Dowling College Lions turned back the visiting Lady Chargers basketball team, 58-40, this evening in a non-conference women's basketball game. With the loss Dominican drops to 0-1 on the season, while Dowling improves to 2-0.
Junior guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) led the Lady Charger effort with 21 points (7-10 from the floor), with 18 of those points from beyond the three point arc (6-7), and four steals.
Senior Samantha Klunk (York, PA) had a team leading six rebounds, while Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) had four assists in the loss.
The Lady Chargers trailed 28-26 at the intermission, but struggled from the floor in the second stanza as they shot just 16.7% (3-18) for a total of 12 points.
The team finished the game shooting 29.2% (14-48) from the floor. Dowling also struggled offensively going 18-55 (32.7%) for the game, but shot 20-26 from the charity stripe to the Lady Chargers, 5-12.
Dominican returns to action this weekend as they travel to Saint Michael's College to participate in the Doubletree Tip-Off Classic. DC will take on Saint Anselm College on Saturday at 12pm and will face the host on Sunday at 2pm.
