The Lady Chargers opened the game with a 11-0 run and extended the lead to 17-7 with just over fourteen minutes remaining in the first half. CHC rallied to cut the lead to 29-26 on a layup by junior Jenna Beck (Philadelphia, PA) with six and a half remaining, but the Lady Chargers outscored the Griffins 20-8 to close out the half with a 49-34 lead.
Dominican held a double-digit lead for the entire second half and shot 61.5% (16-26) from the floor in the stanza en route to the 92-65 victory.
During halftime the Lady Chargers honored seniors Shalissa Burgess, Althea Chambers, and Kayla MacDonald.
Jessica Pruiti (Old Bridge, NJ) and Jen Delahanty (Staten Island, NY) led the Griffins with 15 points each, while Pruiti had a game leading nine rebounds. Beck finished with 12 points and seven boards in the loss.
DC had four players in double figures as Chambers and junior forward Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) each netted 21 points and combined for nine rebounds and 11 assists. MacDonald finished with a career high 11 points, while freshman Meghan Murphy (Carmel, NY) came off the bench to net 10 points, shooting 3-5 from the three point line.
The Lady Chargers improve to 16-10 overall and 13-3 in the CACC, while the Griffins fall to 6-20 overall and 4-13 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they wrap up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season action on the road at Caldwell College. Game time is set for 6pm.
