Lady Chargers Basketball Upends Caldwell Cougars, 78-66

Blauvelt, NY (12/7/06) The Dominican College women’s basketball team defeated the Caldwell College Cougars, 78-66 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Blauvelt, NY (12/7/06)   The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated the Caldwell College Cougars, 78-66 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Trailing 38-36 at the half, Dominican took the lead with 18:03 left on a jumper by senior Jackie Tracey-Spitaleri (Bronx, NY) and never looked back extending that lead to 77-61 with 2:28 left in the game.

The Lady Chargers had three players in double figures, led by freshman CACC Rookie of the Week, Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) with 19 points, six rebounds and three steals.  Junior Dana Rotio (Garfield, NJ) contributed 18 points and five boards, while guard Kristen Tracey (Bronx, NY) added 15 points and two steals in the win. 

The Cougars had two players in double digits, led by Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ) with 25 points and a team leading nine rebounds.  Senior Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ) added 15 points in the loss, shooting 4-6 from beyond the three point arc.

With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the CACC, while Caldwell falls to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers take on host Wilmington College this Saturday in CACC women's action.  Game time is slated for 1pm in Delaware.
