Dominican Wins League Opener From Felician, 88-54

Rutherford, NJ The Dominican (N.Y.) College women’s basketball team outscored host Felician College, 27-8, over the final eight minutes, 43 seconds, of the first half en route to an 88-54 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory Tuesday night at Job Gym. The game was the conference opener for both schools.

Rutherford, NJ     The Dominican (N.Y.) College women’s basketball team outscored host Felician College, 27-8, over the final eight minutes, 43 seconds, of the first half en route to an 88-54 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory Tuesday night at Job Gym. The game was the conference opener for both schools.

 
After taking a 44-20 halftime lead, Dominican (3-0, 1-0) scored the first six points of the second period and led by as many as 37 points. The Chargers benefited from 34 Felician turnovers.

  Freshman Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) led all scorers with 21 points for Dominican. Frankie Melione (Wayne, NJ/Immaculate Heart) scored 12 points.

Dee Dee Smith (Monticello, NY/Monticello) had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Falcons (1-6, 0-1).
