Philadelphia, PA (3/10/07) The #2 Dominican College women's basketball team won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship this afternoon after defeating #1 Philadelphia University, 69-53.

The Lady Chargrs took a 35-24 lead into the half, ignited by an 11-2 run in the last two minutes. Both teams struggled from the floor in the half as the Rams shot 36.4% to Dominican's 33.3%.
Junior guard Dana Rotio (Garfield, NJ) led the team with 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Freshman Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) added 13 points, four rebounds and three steals in the win, while Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) added nine points (4-6) off the bench.
Senior Beth DePalo (Rumson, NJ) had seven points, six rebounds and three steals and Shalissa Burgess (Englewood, NJ) added eight points and six rebounds.
Rotio and DePalo were named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team and Rotio earned the tournament MVP award.
With the win, the Lady Chargers end their season with a 21-9 record.
