Holy Family University Defeats Dominican Lady Chargers, 67-62
Blauvelt, NY (1/11/07) Holy Family University remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 67-62 victory over host Dominican College this evening on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Holy Family improves to 11-1 overall and 8-0 in the CACC, while the Lady Chargers fall to 8-5 overall and 4-4 in the CACC.

Holy Family University held a 34-23 at the half, behind sophomore Melissa Brooks (Levittown, PA) and freshman Christine McCollum (Abington, PA) netting eight points a piece.
The Lady Chargers fought back in the second half, cutting the lead to three, 63-60, with 0:31 seconds remaining in the game as freshman Frankie Melione (Wayne, NJ) converted one of two free throw attempts. Holy Family went on to convert their last four free throws en route to the 67-62 victory.
Holy Family was led by junior Kelly Killion (Pennsauken, NJ) with a game leading 25 points, four assists and six rebounds. Brooks finished with 13 points, while McCollum ended with eight points and five rebounds.
Dominican had three players in double digits, led by freshman Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) with 21 points. Senior Jackie Tracey-Spitaleri (Bronx, NY) netted 15 points, seven rebounds and had a game leading six assists in the loss. Junior Dana Rotio (Garfield, NJ) finished with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Philadelphia University this Saturday in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. Game time is slated for 2pm.
