BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE DEACONS UPEND DOMINICAN LADY CHARGERS, 3-1

Blauvelt, NY (9/25/07)       The Bloomfield College Deacons volleyball team came back after losing the first game to defeat host Dominican College, 3-1 (21-30, 30-18, 30-18, 30-24) this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball action at the Hennessy Center.                                                                                                                 

Sophomore Ursula Pereira (Belo Horizante, Brazil) led all attackers with a 31 kills.  Junior Celeste Lindsey (Cincinnati, OH) had 11 kills, while Nilmara Zanette (Pocos de Caldas, Brazil) added 10 kills in the win.  Junior setter Sonia Perez (San Jose, Costa Rica) had a game leading 54 assists.

The Lady Chargers were led by junior Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) with 11 kills.  Junior Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) added six kills, while setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 22 assists in the loss. 

With the win, the Deacons improve to 4-13 overall and 3-1 in the CACC, while the Lady Chargers falls to 2-6 on the year and 2-3 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Thursday when they host CACC rival Nyack College.  Game time is 7pm at the Hennessy Center on Coach Baxter Court.
