Nyack Warriors Rally To Beat Dominican Lady Chargers, 3-2
Blauvelt, NY (10/12/06) The Nyack College womens volleyball team rallied down 0-2 to defeat host Dominican College 3-2 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the Hennessy Center.

Blauvelt, NY (10/12/06) The Nyack College women's volleyball team rallied down 0-2 to defeat host Dominican College 3-2 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the Hennessy Center.
The first game was a seesaw battle with the lead going back and forth between both games. Leading 29-28, sophomore Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) got the game winning kill off the assist by Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) for the 30-28 victory.
The Lady Chargers dominated the second game winning 30-15 to take a commanding 2-0 lead behind seven unanswered points served by Earl. In the third game, Nyack fought back to take a 23-16 lead before DC rallied to pull within one at 22-23 behind six straight DC points. Junior Wendy Paige (Harriman, NY) got the game winning kill for Nyack to force a fourth game.
In game four down 13-14 Nyack's Colleen Weidman (Baldwin, NY) served four straight points to take a 17-14 lead en route to a 30-26 victory to tie the match at 2-2.
In the fifth and deciding game, Nyack jumped out to an early 9-3 lead but Dominican battled back to tie the game at 12-12. The Lady Chargers took a 14-13 lead but couldn't hang on as Nyack pulled out a 16-14 victory over the game winning block by Megan Metcalf (Millerplace, NY).
The Warriors were led by Paige who led all attackers with 30 kills. Laurie Stuart (Trujillo, Peru) and Lace McCabe (Plano, TX) each had 16 kills in the win, while setter Tara Leegwater (Ridgewood, NJ) added 60 assists, respectively.
The Lady Chargers were led by Collier with 14 kills, while junior Tara Leahy (Highland Falls, NY) had a season high 11 kills and two blocks. Sophomore Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) added 12 kills in the loss. Ashley Simpson (Spring Valley, NY) led all blockers with four solo blocks, while Earl had 41 assists.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to the University of Sciences in Philadelphia for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match scheduled to begin at 12pm.
